We ended up here just before July 4th, and were finding other parks full. The people in the office were friendly and helpful. We had a guide to our site and wonder if the site across from us has ever been "observed". We closed our curtains to elimnate the "dump" directly in front of us. I would not use the restrooms. I do not think Good Sam or Woodall's has looked at this park in a long time. I would not recommend this park or stay in it again.
My husband had a different park in mind, but when I saw all the reviews I changed it. Large sites with all the conveniences, including barbecue suppers for $9.95. That became affordable because our rate per night was $16, and doing laundry was free. Treelessness becomes less important. I will say the wind in Texas was ferocious, but that was not the campground's fault.
This park is pretty rough yet, but the crucial facilities are available here and the people are really nice and working hard. Laundry room, shower and bathrooms are all in several little buildings, family style. They allow free use of DVD's, VHS tapes, and games as well as book exchange. Although the entrance could be improved, and it had just received torrential rain, it was a great overnight stay for us in an area which is underserved.
